RICA
DESIGNS
RICA Designs is a Contemporary Filipino retail brand that sells a variety of products and offers multi-disciplinary services. As creative artists and designers, our vision is to let the Filipino people look back at the Philippine history and move forward to the cultural evolution. Our brand is also a way to introduce the true Filipino identity to the foreign consumers.
" Since the Philippines has already been modernized for many years,
there is definitely a need to let the citizens embrace the historical and
cultural influences and also to let them reminisce the Philippine history.
Having this unique Contemporary Filipino brand will be a great
advantage to the country’s tourism, since it can speak about the true
Filipino identity that is still a mystery to the majority of the people,
especially the foreigners. My products will definitely be different from
other contemporary interpretations of the Filipino design. They will not
only be simply contemporary, but they will also be historical, cultural,
functional and elegant! "

"Never be afraid to explore different aspects of creativity because you'll never know what it can bring to your life."
I, Erica Tudtud also known as 'Erica Olina' in the Fashion and Film industry in Melbourne, is a multidisciplinary designer with a Spanish Japanese and Filipino heritage. Besides being a creative designer, I have also been a professional model for over since 2006 and an Actress since 2013. I have been engaging myself in different types of creativity such as Flower Arrangement, Fashion, Interiors, Accessories, Costume and Props and other types of artwork.
Ever since I was young, I have always been very creative in many ways. Singing, dancing, writing poetry, painting, sketching and creating unique artworks were among my hobbies. I attained my Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design in one of the most prestigious schools in the Philippines and also one of the oldest in Asia, the University of San Carlos. While doing my undergraduate studies, my great accomplishments made her strive hard even more and has taught me the importance of teamwork, multidisciplinary collaboration, adhering to tight deadlines and many aspects of creativity.
On 2015, I wanted greener pasture in life so I decided to do something much more challenging. After doing some research and analyzations, I saw a bright future coming ahead of me knowing that my new desired specialisation is a good combination with my interior design degree. With the support of my parents and the DUISP (Deakin University International Students Program) scholarship, I was able moved to move to Melbourne and do further studies in the field of Creative Arts. On the 16th of December in 2016, I successfully graduated from Deakin University, one of the top schools in the world, with a title, Master of Creative in Visual Communication Design. Being an interior designer/decorator with a good knowledge in marketing and visual communication design has taught me how to professionally market my designs with the right business promotion strategies and branding. As a student at Deakin, I have been maintaining high marks and I have also worked as a Peer Mentor at the Deakin Peer Mentor Program 2016.
